The President Clematis

Hello, I am The President Clematis, and I most likely was given my title of honor because I am one of the longest blooming flowering vines that you can plant in your garden. You can be sure that my rich purple star shaped flowers will be grabbing second looks in your garden from early summer, all the way to the first frost of autumn. I am low maintenance, tolerant of urban pollution and will thrive in any type of soil - my only request is that my soil is well drained - I tend to be a little dramatic about this, and will not tolerate standing water. My perfect home must be in full sunlight, and preferably near a fence or other structure that can help guide my upwards growing habit - even The President needs a little help sometimes!
