Maiden Grass, also known as Miscanthus sinensis, is an ornamental grass species that is commonly grown for its elegant and graceful appearance. It features long, slender blades that grow in clumps, and in the fall, the foliage turns a beautiful coppery-orange colour. Maiden Grass is drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, making it a great addition to any garden or landscape. It can be used to create borders, as a specimen plant, or as a backdrop to other plants.

Care Guide

  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply once a week during dry spells
  • Maintenance: Divide clumps every 3-5 years to promote healthy growth
  • Pruning: Cut back dead or damaged foliage in early spring before new growth appears. Optionally, prune plant to 6-12 inches above ground in late winter for a tidy appearance
  • (Optional):Fertilize using a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring before new growth begins
